Frequently Asked Questions

How much is 1 hour?

The costs of the lessons vary and depend on the location and transmission type.

We also offer block booking discounts and they start as low as £29 for 1 hour.

Please contact us for prices in your area.

How many lessons do I need?

Everyone is different and everyone has different needs. How many hours you need to pass the test depends on your individual skills and abilities.

We can say that statistically on average a person needs about 40-50 hours of lessons. But there are people who need less and there are people who need little bit more.

Manual or automatic transmission?

A car with an automatic transmission changes the gears automatically. It takes out all the stress with stalling or rolling back on a hill and you can focus more on the road. However manual cars are not difficult but require little bit more practice with clutch control.

If you are not sure which one to chosse, we can offer a free taster session to give you an idea of how it works.

Do you help with theory?

Yes we do!

We offer free access to an online service Driving Time Success Anytime where you can study for your theory test. There are unlimited mock test available and about 300 hazard perception videos.

Students who have use the service usually score 49/50.

We also offer 1-2-1 sessions free of charge should you need little bit extra help.

Which test centres do you cover?

We cover Southampton Maybush and Forest Hills and also Winchester DTC.

Can I be picked up from home?

Absolutely! We pick you up where it's convenient for you, is it home, college or work, just let us know in advance so that we can plan our journey.

Am I test ready?

Being test ready is a very individual case but you should consider to take more lessons if your instructor is:

- telling you to change gear,
- asking you what the speed limit is,
- talking you through every manoeuvre,
- telling you which lane to be in,
- reminding you which exit to come off of on a roundabout,
- helping you when you can’t work out if there is enough space for you to get your car through.
